Composition/Arranging Services

I am generally available for commission of composition services. My rates are as follows:

Rates for solo/small ensemble compositions are $100 per minute for up to 4 instruments, including vocal lines. Ensembles above 4 instruments add $5 to the rate per instrument.
Large ensembles such as concert band, full marching band, or orchestra are at a flat rate of $190 per minute.
Any specialized such as drum line or pit percussion writing for a marching band show will be charged per the small ensemble rate above.
The rate for choir pieces is $120 per minute.
There is a $20 surcharge for any commission involving piano writing, to be added on top of the final total (rather than added to the rate).
Arrangements have a 5% discount, but the commissioner is responsible for procuring the rights to arrange any copyrighted material.

Any quotes provided are subject to fluctuation depending on the final length of the piece. All commissions require a 50% non-refundable deposit of the initial quote to begin work.

Transcription Services

I am also available to transcribe music as needed. See below for terms and rates:

MOST IMPORTANT: The client must provide reasonable proof of rights to transcribe copyrighted material. Travis Salim does not assume liability for mishandling copyrighted material.
There are two rates for transcribing: with a written score and with a recording. As with compositions and arrangements, these rates apply up to 4 instruments, with the rate increasing by $1 per additional instrument.
- Transcriptions with a score are $3 per measure.
- Transcriptions with only a recording are $5 per measure.
Rates are more negotiable based on circumstance. 50% deposit not required.
